How a dog can inspire kindness and promote bully prevention

Toby the dog here!

I'm a dog with a blog

on a mission to make our world a kinder place... for people and animals!

Children are our leaders of the future.

What they see. Experience and Learn shapes the future.... Their future.

When I was on our PAWS Across Canada Kindness tour, we provided presentations to schools about
kindness, acceptance and respect.   Check out these students demonstrating kindness and respect to me...

This then ripples out of the presentation and into the school.

I gotta say....

Kids really paid attention to my story....and to my BARK (Be Accepting Respectful Kind) message.

Mom was talking to Sharon Sayler on Life Interrupted radio about dealing with bullying in schools and in workplaces, and what we can do about it.  You can listen to the show here

Here's a few tips mom suggested:

1.  Spend time talking in your family.  Drive time and dinner time are great moments to catch up with your children, role play how to deal with situations (like bullying) and talk about what's going on at school and at home.

2.  Put your best foot (or paw) forward.  Speak with respect.  Listen with interest.  Accept without judgement.  That's what mom teaches in her workshops for businesses.

3.  Teach children how to be a good friend.

4.  Just be kind!

Share your comments about how we can build a kinder world for humans and animals.

Toby the dog here!

A big dog with a big blog!

I'm hanging out with mom today doing PAWsitive Radio!

Nicole talked to mom about the importance of choosing a leader!

The dogs start training in August when the weather cools down.

This gives them lots of time to train, practice, build leader skills and to build a
team relationship with Nicole.

A strong leader not only listens to and trusts Nicole, he/she also has trust in self.

Mom thought that was so relevant to the human world.  Like a team at work!

Isn't it great how us dogs teach humans how to lead, how to follow and how to be a team?

Nicole has been dog-sledding since she was three years old. WOW

Helping the team work together is also an important responsibility of the human leader.... Nicole.

On February 28, let's cheer Nicole and Team Ineka on.  They have trained hard. Build a great team. And have a great human and K9 leader.

Go Team Ineka!

You can listen to mom and Nicole here on PAWSitive Radio.  It's a Pawsome conversation.

Please share this post, like Team Ineka's facebook page and visit mine to say hello too.

Let's be KIND to one another!

Why are dogs so PAWsome at teaching kids about bully prevention?

I'll tell you why.....

I'm making a DOGumentary of life... through a dog's eyes.

It's Toby the dog here...

Yup!

A dog with a blog and I'm filming life as I see it!  One day I'll have my DOGumentary done but until then I am sharing lessons for humans as taught me your truly.

Bully Prevention not only needed in schools... mom sees lots of bullying incidents in the workplace.   That's why we are on our Million Acts of Kindness mission....together!

Dogs are great teachers of unconditional acceptance.

You humans can be fast to judge each other.....  People make comments about someone's hairstyle, what they are wearing, what someone said in a meeting, who they hang out with, and why someone's life is the way it is......

Us dogs don't care about your hairstyle, what you are wearing (unless you have treats in your pocket), what someone said at a meeting (unless it contained the words "treat", "walk", "toy" or "fetch"), and we don't  judge how someone's life has turned out... we simply accept!

When mom and I present in schools we talk about our BARK (TM) way....

Be
Accepting
Respectful
Kind

Mom shared some of her ideas about bully prevention, kindness and helping adults cope with situations of bullying in the workplace on Sharon Sayler's radio show.  Check it out.
