Rescue Madness!

It's me...Toby the dog....

A dog with a blog.

And that's my human mum, Charmaine... she is always trying to get in on my selfies....

March is Rescue Madness with our friends at DoggyBNB

They are on a mission to help rescue dogs through a super fun March campaign.... Rescue Madness!

There are great prizes and by being part of Rescue Madness, you help animal shelters/rescues and the adorable pups waiting for their FURever families.

You might be asking.... What or Who is DoggyBNB?

Here's a bit 'bout them....

Doggy BNB is all about having an inclusive community of pet care options with the people you trust and care about the most. Just like my  mom, other pet parents  love their dogs so much and have to know that when their dog is in someone's care, they are well taken care of and safe. DoggyBNB is a social connection platform to find responsible, safe loving pet care when the humans have to go away. Check out the DoggyBNB app at
Remember to go on and pawticipate on Rescue Madness... together we can make a pawsitive difference and find some forever homes for dogs in need

Pet Friendly Places in Fort McMurray- PAWS Across Canada Tour

From the desk of ME!  Toby!  (photo credit Team Toby   www.theoriginalteamtoby.com)

when dad pulled into Fort McMurray, we stopped at the tourist centre to see what was dog friendly

The Visitor Centre is at the Oil Sans Discovery Centre.  I couldn't go in as it is a "no pets allowed" but mom and dad talked to the guide to learn where I could go in the community.  There are pet friendly hotels, and lots of walking trails and a dog park.

Also there are some stores that are pet friendly, like the Bone and Biscuit, we stopped by for some treats....

Met a new friend from the Fort McMurray SPCA

Dad took me to the Birchwood Trails....

The trails are pet friendly, with dogs on leash.  A few more garbage cans along the way would help with people not leaving their dog poop bags through the forest section.  There were lots of garbage cans along the top of the trails.... PAWsome.

Big thanks to our PAWs Across Canada Tour partners..... thank you for helping us make a difference!

Toby the Dog opens the mail.... This is one way to handle your bills.  Photo Credit TheOriginalTeamToby.com

Woof!

Spring is here!

Finally!

Mom interviews our PAWS Across Canada Partner Dianna Bowes of Fabulous at 50 and Creative on the Move and then talks about spring cleaning your business and office, on my PAWSitive Radio show.

Here's my 3 tips for spring cleaning:

1) Hide toys under snow, then when the snow melts it is like Christmas time... toys everywhere...

Found my long lost frisbee when the snow melted.  Love spring cleaning the yard!
2) Get Focused on priorities... Zoom in and focus on what matters!

Natural and Holistic Healthcare for you pet...

What is holistic health for animals?

What does natural health mean?

Why would you explore this route of care for you pet?

How do you find natural health and holistic doctors for our pet family members?

Dr Shawn (photo credit: Dr Shawn Messonnier)
These were all questions that our guest, Dr. Shawn Messonnier, DVM, answered on PAWsitive Radio Show.  Mom interviewed Dr Shawn who was a 1987 graduate of Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, opened Paws & Claws Animal Hospital in 1991. His special interests include exotic pets, dermatology, cancer, and internal medicine. In addition to serving clients, he has written for numerous veterinary and pet publications including Animal Wellness, Body + Soul, Veterinary Forum, Dog Fancy, Cat Fancy, Dog World, Fido Friendly, Whole Dog Journal, Whole Cat Journal, Whole Living, Total Health and Wellness.

...by the way, the dog and cat at the top of his web page are Dr. Shawn’s dog Rita, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, and his Ragdoll cat, Dysa!

Here’s what I learned from Dr. Shawn:

1)      Animals who are under the care of a holistic Veterinarian may have a longer life span, Dr. Shawn mentioned that there is a reduced dependency on drugs, and reduced cost for the pet family, and that pets could live 1-2 times longer. WOW! This is PAWSome!
2)      Dr. Shawn reminded pet families to read labels, do their research, don’t believe broad statement outrageous  claims, and, to have a meet and greet with your Veterinarian and animal health care provider to make sure they and their approach are a good fit.
3)      Dr. Shawn has created his own line of products for us, for pets!  From shampoos to health products, Dr. Shawn has clinically tested the products.
4)      And… remember to take good care of your pet’s health just as you do your own.

Dr Shawn’s thank you for listening to our show go to Dr Shawn's website enter code "drshawn" at my natural products web store, www.drshawnsnaturals.com, to save 10% on all your future purchases!
