How Pet Friendly is YOUR Community?

On our PAWS Across Canada Tour, we found lots of things that make a community a little more pet friendly, like:

When you are looking to travel with your pets, here are a few things to check out in your planning:

1. Pet Friendly Hotels (with easy access to outside, garbage cans and well lit areas to walk your dog)
2. Pet friendly rest stops... your dogs need to get out and stretch just like you.
3. Communities that have activities you can do with your pet such as walking trails, parks, dog parks, pet events.
4. Learn where the closest vet and animal clinic are when you visit a community.
5. Make sure that your dog tags and chips have current and up to date information.
6. Have a current photo (headshot) of your pet on your cell phone.

Just a few tips on traveling with your pets.

Mom did a survey with pet families about what they want in relation to pet friendly travel.  There was PAWSome feedback.  She'll be doing a webinar soon to reveal the results.

Great Pet Friendly Hotel in Edmonton, AB Canada

It's me, Toby the dog with a blog!

Dogs that travel need quiet, safe and comfortable hotels (just like their humans).

On our PAWS Across Canada anti-bullying tour, we had the chance to stay at a number of hotels.

The last stay of our tour was at the Chateau Nova In Edmonton.  Close by to the city centre airport, shopping, tourist attractions, and museums.  Easy access to the #16 Yellowhead highway and downtown.

SUPER PET FRIENDLY!

EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

 The main lobby is welcoming and warm, and a great place for people to gather.

Mom appreciated that there was well lit grassy areas to walk me, and, close by garbage cans.

Dad liked the quiet rooms and comfy beds, and he had been driving most of the day .

 We enjoyed our stay here so much that we gave the Chateau Nova a Toby Tested Toby Approved award. 

Congratulations Chateau Nova for a great stay! We appreciate all you do for families traveling with their pets!

Dog Gives Award to Pet Friendly Hotel

We are on our PAWS Across Canada Tour building a kinder Canada one paw one person at a time.

This leg of the tour is through Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

This leg of the tour started off at Microtel Inn & Suites. They generously hosted our stay in Lloydminster.  We LUVED them so much we gave them the Toby Tested Toby Approved award.

Here's 4 PAWS Up reasons that we loved this hotel so much:

1) Pet friendly rooms are on main floor with easy access to outside doors.

2) The pet friendly rooms are so quiet... nothing woke me up!

3) There was lots of grassy areas (super well lit) for mom and dad to walk me around.

4)  There were garbage cans 

The bonus was the pawmazing customer service!  I was treated like a movie star... and I saw them treat everyone with that same welcoming approach.  

Next time you are traveling through Lloydminster, make sure Microtel is your hotel for pet friendly stays.
