A dog labelled as "unadoptable" becomes therapy dog and star of her book

Peek-a-boo!

It's me Toby

Yup!

A dog with a blog!

Mom meets the most pawsome people and pets on our PAWsitive Radio show.

She just interviewed Peachy the dog's mom.

Gabriela Duran is the author of the book Peachy the Warrior Princess.

Peachy was a dog that Gabriela adopted, and who had survived living in a puppy mill. With great care, patience and love, Gabriela and her family helped Peachy overcome the trauma of living in a puppy mill.  Gabriela was told in the beginning that Peachy was not adoptable.  Perhaps Peachy had other plans including proving the doubters wrong.  Peachy overcame her fears, and became a therapy dog that helped many people.  She also became the inspiration behind Gabriela's mission of preventing puppy mills and educating people about responsible loving pet care.

How can you help Gabriela with Peachy's legacy and prevent puppy mills?

To learn more and hear Peachy's story, please listen to pawsitive radio here:

Building great collaborations and events

Toby the dog here.

I've got a nose for detail.

And have my own blog.

Today mom did her PAWsitive Radio show and she talked to Margo Bates, author, and president of Canadian Authors Association, Vancouver Branch.

Margo and her team partnered with Vancouver Public Library (VPL) to have mom speak at the VPL during our PAWS Across Canada tour.  She said it was a great example of collaboration and partnerships.

Mom has a 5 step model for collaborations, she uses it all the time in the work I help her with, and also with our PAWmazing PAWtners that support Team Toby.

G- Goals
S- Strategy
P- Plan
R-Relationships
A- Action

Here's a tip from me for you humans... when you want someone to collaborate with you....say... ummmm.... play fetch, just put all your toys in a pile in their path.  They almost always stop to play (or trip over them), but typically they stop and play.

Check out the conversation with Margo Bates, and mom's tips on collaborating in business here.   Please share with others you think might enjoy it.

Do Dog’s Go To Heaven?

Toby the dog here....welcome to my PAWsitive Dog Blog.
Mom interviewed Jean Holmes, author, on PAWsitive Radio.  Jean was surrounded by animals as a child. Her father was a veterinarian and her mom raised Pedigree Doxens. They also had cows, ducks, chickens geese and a pet crow. Jean’s mom started asking Ministers if dogs go to heaven. She got a variety of different answers, which inspired Jean to research and explore this question further.

Turning to the bible Jean starting researching and writing, which turned into her book, Do Dogs Go To Heaven, which is now in its second edition.

Jean also shared some of the wonderful lessons us dogs teach you humans. Lessons like:
- Healthy boundaries
- Unconditional love and acceptance
- Forgiveness
- Patience

You can check out Jean's book by clicking on the book cover above.
